I've slept heaps over the last couple of days. All this crawling is tiring me out. I've discovered a lead from the TV to the stereo, magazines in a magazine rack, the extension cord leading from the computer to the telephone socket, the rubbish bin, books under the coffee table and I managed to crawl out onto the balcony! That was hard work and took me about 5 minutes to get over the ledge. My tummy got stuck so my hands were on the balcony floor and my legs were waggling around in the air. I finally worked it out, got out there and then Mum picked me up before I could get any further. She let me play with the parsley which was a bit of an anticlimax.

Team Oskar Tex came 4th in the Virtual Tour De France! Slipped off the podium in the last stage, shucks! But there were 102 teams in the competition so we did really well. Mum and Dad are now arguing over who was the Director Sportif and who was the Soigneur. Mum reckoned she should have been the director but Dad says she has the portable liquid refreshments so she has to be the Soigneur.

I can crawl! I can crawl!!!!! I got some tips from Gabriel and Thomas at our play group and worked hard to practice. Then Harry came over and showed me how it's really done (although he's 3 months older than me, so he should know). He can grab the coffee table and use it to pull to standing and walk around the edge. Very clever. From my play area I can see Mum and Dad's bikes, so when I realised I could crawl that was the first place I went to. Mum came screeching around the corner after I'd been there a while and yanked me away. I was just twirling the pedals and had pulled the chain off the big chainwheel at the front, nothing drastic. But I did have grease all over my hands, I guess she didn't want it on the carpet. Or in my mouth. So now they've moved the bikes. Shucks. At least I have more room now.

I forgot to write about my trip to the park with Daddy. There is a new playground at the end of our street and Daddy said he'd been wanting to take me there for a while. So we all walked down, then Mummy left us to go for a walk and Daddy and I had a great time. He took me on the slide which was fun, but I really liked the swing. It was a little bucket seat with a belt to stop me from falling out, and I swung really high! Daddy took a photo of me on the swing so I'm looking forward to seeing that. Mum nearly had a fit that he'd put me in the swing in the first place, let alone let go of me to take a photo! It's okay Mum, I'm tougher than you think! Then we went on the "bicycle". I sat on the seat and held on to the handlebars while Daddy wobbled it around. That was great fun.

A couple of days later Mummy took me to a different park and we sat on a horse and spun around in circles which made me really dizzy. I think Mum got dizzy too because we had to sit there a while before getting up. Then we sat on the bike and pretended we were going down the Pyrenees in the Tour De France. I wanted to sit on the bike myself so Mum put me on the seat and held me there while we climbed L'Alpe Duez. Then three boys came over and surrounded us - I think they wanted to use the bike too. Then one of them came over to me, grabbed the bike and shook it really hard. I wobbled all over the place before Mum lifted me off it and told him to stop. He completely ignored her and sauntered off with his pals. Boy, what a bully. Mummy was fuming, and the boys mothers were gossiping and didn't even notice.

Nan read me a new book the other day. It's called Avocado Baby and is about a baby who eats avocados and grows really strong and throws bullies in the lake. Well, that's me if we run into them again. Except I haven't eaten avocado before....millet or quinoa baby doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Ah! Beetroot baby! That's me!

I've had such a busy weekend. It was Dad's birthday on Saturday so we spent the whole weekend celebrating it. Mum, Dad and I had lunch on Saturday at Caffe Latte which was really nice. The waiter kept talking to me and I sat at the table and played then had a snooze while Mum and Dad took ages to eat lots of food and drink lots of wine. Then we went to Simon and Libby's for dinner since it was Simon's birthday as well. I got lots of cuddles and played with everyone before going to bed while the adults sat up. Usually Libby plays with me a lot but she is 39 weeks pregnant now and couldn't really get down to my level very easily. Or rather if she did then she couldn't get up easily, so Simon made up for it and cuddled me a lot. I got to meet Patrick who has 20something neices and nephews! He knew how to hold me!

Sunday night Nan, Grandad and Uncle Adam came over for dinner. I showed them how I can nearly crawl and sat on Uncle Adam's tummy and tried to suck his nose. Everyone wanted to keep wiping my nose since it's dripping a bit. I hate having my nose wiped! I'd rather wipe it with the back of my hand or on the floor or on Mum's shoulder. Can't see what the problem is.

Mummy and I have just spent the morning at the Botanic Gardens with Cindie and Harry. It was lovely, lots of trees, nice and cool and we said hello to the bats. Harry has these big teeth too. Everyone has teeth except me.

EEEK!! I'm so embarrassed! I can't believe that Daddy put those pictures on the FRONT page!! Well they won't be there for long. I'm going to insist that he remove them or I'll withold cuddles. That'll work.

We had my friends over yesterday from the Mothers Group. It was a smaller group so all us boys could have a good yak. I had to show off a little and show them how I can get up on all fours now and push up to make an upside down "V". I can even take one foot off the ground for a second before I fall over. It won't be long before I'll be crawling all over the place.

It's Daddy's birthday tomorrow. Yay! Happy Birthday Daddy!! You're the best Daddy in the whole wide world and I love you very much. Mmmmmm.... virtual hug everytime you read this :). (As long as you take those photos off...)

Team Oskar Tex is still doing well in Fabio's Fantasy Tour. I think we'll slide down the rankings now that they've hit the mountains but that's okay - we enjoyed being at the top for a while thanks to Stuart O'Grady. I've been trying to get Mum to help me write my journal all week but she's been glued to the Tour website and all these message boards. Sheesh, at least when the tour is over I'll get more attention again.

After Stage 7 Team Oskar Tex IS in the lead. Yay for us!!

We went visiting yesterday. Saw Sonja and Niall for lunch at the Botanic Gardens. We had lunch at the Observatory Cafe and I have never seen so many other babies!! The place was packed with us all. And noisy, wow. Then we went to see Simon and Libby. They have about 3 weeks before Libby has her baby. She has a *very* big tummy. Mum was a bit unimpressed with me because I had escaping poo while we were there and she had to get me completely naked to clean up. While I was sitting there Simon took some photos of me in the nuddy and he caught me peeing! I was just doing it quietly so Mum wouldn't notice and he went and caught me and emailed the picture to Mum. She's threatened to put it on this site but I think that it's a private moment that shouldn't be shown around. I mean Bethany might have a look...

Okay, we're not quite in the lead - we won on day 5 but are not top of the GC. Must be close though...
I can't wait til I get a seat on the back of Mum or Dad's bikes. I think I'm big enough now. They just have to decide who's bike - they're both a bit precious about them. Especially Dad. He doesn't want to look *uncool* on his way to work with an empty baby seat on the back. Hmmm, fair enough actually.

I went into town a couple of days ago and visited Dad at work. We went in and they were having a meeting so Mum and I sat in on it for a while. Well, I got bored brainless and started making a few noises and suddenly all the team were looking at me and not the CEO. Hee hee hee, it wasn't deliberate Andrew - I'm sure they were all really interested in what you were saying before I came along...
Then Mum, Dad and I went to Pellegrini's for coffee. Oooh, cool baby, I bet none of the other boys in our group have been to Pellegrini's. Speaking of the boys in the group - you should see all the teeth that Thomas has!! He has six big whoppers and I still have none. I'm now 7 months old - I want teeth!

I went to Phillip Island yesterday for the day. Mum and I drove down with Nan and met Granny and Ros at Seal Rock for lunch. I sat on the floor with some toys and looked out over the water while they all ate and drank. Gee it was nice. Then I had my lunch at the table with them in a high chair and after I played games with Mummy and Granny. It was the "see how many toys I can make you pick up" game. I kept chucking them over the side and then made lots of noise until Mum or Granny got them for me. Hee hee. It made me tired though so I slept while the others went for walks. Apparently they saw lots of seals frollicking of the coast. Then I got to meet an old friend of Grandpa's, Sandy Reith, who runs the aerodrome there. Nan, Mum and I had a cuppa with him in his fantastic house over the cliffs - what a view. He made me laugh - he has these funny lips that make funny noises when I hit them. We had a great time getting to his house though - had to drive down an airstrip which was all muddy and wet and dodge potholes. Getting back to the street was even more fun because Mum put on her rally-driver hat when we drove down his "driveway". We lost the tailend of the car turning the corner which was full of potholes and slush so Mum just drove faster. We yippee'd along the road zig-zagging around holes or just driving through them and came out on the main road with red mud coloured car instead of a blue one.

For Tour De France fans, we have entered Team Oskar Tex in a competition. http://boards.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=1041&p=16&forumid=5690 is the link. It's a bit of fun.

Ooops! I gave Mummy a fat lip. Two fat lips actually. She picked me up since I was lonely being in bed alone, and I accidentally headbutted her in the mouth. Sorry Mummy!!

I went to see my Great-Grandparents today. Great Grandma is turning 86 (can I say that?) on Monday. I slept all the way to Frankston and was full of beans when we got there. Of course that could have been from the coffee at Brunetti's this morning too... Great Grandma got some prezzies but so did I!! Cool! I got a new wooden toy that is beautiful and smooth with a couple of balls in the middle - great to suck on and grab. And I also got a lovely new book about Jemima Puddleduck - big with nice pictures and in cardboard so I can chew it. Thank-you Nan and Grandad.

I had brekkie with all the Hosken clan at Brunetti's this morning. They were all having a go at Adam because he's a bit too cuddly at the moment. Hmmm, what does that make me?? Super cuddly that's what! Actually one of the mums at baby club commented that I was a little, well, big. Another one said I have big legs and might need a bigger size of underpants soon. Sheesh, how embarrassing. At least Gabriel has already gone up a size so I won't be the first.

Errrrggghh!

Daddy is writing a musical about me!!

It starts with people coming out just like West Side Story singing....

"Look over there! Where?
Look over there! Where?
The Itsy Bitsy Boy is Everywhere!"

Not sure about it.

What a nice day! I've hardly seen Mum at all! Not that I wanted that of course, it just worked out that way. I had the morning with Granny and Ros at my place, then I went to Nan's after lunch to play with her. I think Mum went out to spend money. So now I'm kicking back and listening to the cricket on the radio. I'm feeling quite mellow actually...must be all that sherry that I saw Mummy drinking.

I saw all of my friends yesterday. Gabriel can crawl on to his mum's lap - wow! that's so cool. Timothy had this really cool toy that we all played with and decided that we all want. You hit it and these balls spin around and lights come on and it plays music. Jake is still staying awake half the night and we all miss Bethany.

I'm getting a bit big for a few of my pj's. Mum cut the toes out of some of them and now my feet poke through the holes up to my ankles!! Just go and buy me some bigger ones please!

I slept right through from 10.15pm to 7.45am last night. That must be a record. The monsters under my bed must have gone away which is good. Mum and Dad were in good moods too when I got up which is unusual, especially Mum. She is usually grumpy guts first thing in the morning.

I've worked out what Mum does when feeding me. She holds a spoonful of food in front of me and if I don't open my mouth straight away then she opens hers. Once she's put it in my mouth she then closes her lips together as if she's eating off the spoon and not me. I've even seen her chew. I don't think she knows she does it. It looks very funny from where I sit.

This week we've been reading about Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy, Bottomley Pots all covered in spots, Bitzer Maloney all skinny and boney and Schnitzel von Krumm with a very low tum. We borrowed these books from the library but I think I'll get Mum and Dad to buy them for me - they're great fun.

I now sleep in a sleeping bag. It's very warm and cuddly. Keeps me snug as a bug in a rug even when I throw off the covers. Bethany told me about them a while ago, she's slept in one for ages. Hmmm, I wonder if we could fit two of us in the one bag.... I wonder if Bethany remembers me. Another 2 months to go until she gets back from Canberra.
