We had Harry over for a couple of hours yesterday while Cindie went for an interview. He's very clever - he can sit and crawl and roll over easily. He can even feed himself. Mum put him in my business class chair and he sat there munching away on a vegemite sandwich. But boy, he really spread it around. Mum won't let me do that. Maybe she will when I'm a bit older. Then I had my nap on Mum and Dad's bed because Harry was in mine. He stood up and held the side of the cot - very clever - I'll try that when I'm big enough. But when he fell asleep he left a big dribble patch. Eeerrrgh! Sunday, May 27, 2001
Ooops. I didn't mean it really. I didn't mean to vomit on Mummy and have it land in the pocket of her polarfleece top. But pretty clever huh?! Dad has been sick this weekend so I haven't been able to play with him as much as I'd like. Mum called him "sooky". That didn't go down too well. Then she accused me of "just going through the motions" when I was yelling a bit. That really upset me and I let her know. Very, very loudly. She had to cuddle me a lot to make up for it so I drew it out a bit just to get the point across. I think she's a bit tired and emotional. And grumpy. Saturday, May 26, 2001
Well I did it! Thursday night I rolled over from back to front. Dad leapt about like a crazy man afterwards. Mum showed me how to handball with my sherrin last night. Hmmmm. Might just check her technique with Uncle Adam. Think he's more qualified to show me how. Mum can bowl cricket balls to me when I'm a bit bigger. My car chair has been turned around to face the front which means I'm a big boy now. I can look out the window better and see through the windscreen. Mum likes it because she can see me better when she turns around. On Friday Mum and I went to meet Dad for lunch at Brunetti. It was great - I love seeing Daddy in the middle of a working day. I got up from my usual midday sleep and found my loungeroom full of people! We had the mothers group here which was good once I got used to sharing my space. Thomas and Gabriel told me how they roll from back to front so I'll keep practicing. And Thomas had mushed banana for arvo tea so I told Mum I wanted some. Yum yum, except she had a mouthful for everyone I had - I wanted the whole banana but she wouldn't let me. Gabriel said banana gives him hard poo. Wednesday, May 23, 2001
I've had a home body last few days. Lolling about on the floor with my toys....I can now get closer to them if they are out of reach by rolling on my side and arching my back. Dad has been sitting next to me yelling "come on, come on, just a bit further". Boy, give me time, I just haven't worked out what to do with my arm when I roll over - it gets in my way. I got a letter from Bethany!!! Yay, yay, yay!! She is a lot better but unfortunately her Mummy is now sick. Get well soon Michelle! I love the trick about how to get fed twice. I have to work out how to do that - might be a bit difficult since my "bottles" are attached to Mum - I think she'd notice if I shaped up for a second feed in half an hour. But as for competition, don't worry cutey - you're still my number one! I have slept better since writing my last entry. Mum and Dad must have read it and dealt with the monsters. They also put lighter blankets on my bed so I'm not as hot - not that that had anything to do with waking up.... Sunday, May 20, 2001
I just had morning tea of stewed apple. Hmmm... it was okay, very different from my rice goop. Maybe it will grow on me. I'm a bit tired and grumpy today. The monsters under my bed woke me up lots last night. When I got scared I called for Mum or Dad to get rid of them but all they did was pat me and give me my dummy. So I kept waking because the monsters were quiet when my parents came in and a bit after so I'd fall asleep but then they'd start roaring again. So I called for Dad or Mum again...about 6 times I think. Maybe they'll get the message tonight. We had Libby and Simon over for dinner last night. I got to play lots with Libby - she's lots of fun and very pretty. If her baby looks anything like her..... well there might be some competition with Bethany. I haven't seen Bethany lately - she's stayed away from the Mothers groups because of her chicken pox. Hopefully she's all better now and I get to see her next thursday. Saturday, May 19, 2001
Success! Mum just fed me some home made congee, otherwise known as mushy brown rice goop. It was delicious! And very healthy for me too she says. Dad fed me last night and we got food everywhere which was such fun. He let me put my hand in the bowl and wipe it on my chair, and stick my fingers in my mouth so I had a great time. Didn't eat much though...
Hi everyone, this is just a quick note to tell you how good mothers day was. I really did some special things for mum and she seemed really happy. I made (with the help of dad) a special card made as the outline of my little giant hands. They look very cute. And I got mum a Harry Potter book mark....which is much better than a tissue box lid!!! As for breakfast in bed, she got homemade (by Great-Grandma) rhubarb and yogurt followed by french toast and maple syrup along with fresh coffee......yummmmmmmm!!!!!! Thanks to dad for his help. Anyway...thats about it...it was a great day ending with dinner at grans...I had a good cuddle with aunt Jo and she did yoga with me. Oh...the day before we went to nan's and granddads and caught up with all the Hoskens and Shorts (my great grand parents). Everyone was pleased to see me and played with me and told me I have such strong legs....not that I did after EVERYONE had me standing...I got a bit tired. Well back to helping daddy determine whether to use hastables, vectors or arraylists as a structural representation of his referral map data ;-) Bye.....Oskar T Monday, May 07, 2001
A couple of days ago I was looking forward to my usual rice cereal for dinner when Mum tried to feed me this orange mushy stuff instead. Ooooh YUK!! She understood me this time. I spat it out and refused to eat it. But then last night she tried again! I couldn't even swallow it and it made me chunder. I hope I don't get more tonight... We just went to visit Bethany. She has chickenpox and is a bit miserable. That's okay, I still think she's cute. Just a bit spotty. Wednesday, May 02, 2001
