It's Easter! I've been really looking forward to Easter so I can eat lots of Easter eggs, plus I was hoping to see the Easter Bunny when it dropped off the eggs. Over the last week at Kinder we made paintings in the shape of eggs and talked about the Easter Bunny and we even had some little chicks to stay for us to pat and cuddle. On Thursday I was playing in my room with Mum. I patted my knees with my hands and said, 'Listen, Mum, the Easter Bunny is leaving someping'. It was the sound of the Easter Bunny hopping! Mum had no idea, so I had to explain it to her - duh! Then I dashed out of my room and pretended to be the Easter Bunny leaving Easter eggs, and bounded back to Mum to tell her that there was something under her pillow. We went to look together and when Mum pulled up her pillow there was a packed of udon noodles! She looked so surprised but I laughed and said, 'It's just 'tending!' Ha ha ha! So on Sunday Jasmine and I were at Aunty Dodo's house. We had such a great time looking for Easter eggs. It was such fun that we got Aunty Dodo to keep hiding the same egg. We played that gave for about an hour! Mum came to get us after lunch and as soon as I walked in the door at home I went searching for more eggs. I found a huge bunny on my pillow and then helped Jazzie find her bunny tucked under her blanket! We were so happy! We ripped off the wrapping and started munching on the ears. It was such a big rabbit and I kind of knew I wouldn't be allowed to eat the whole thing at once, but Jasmine fully thought she could eat it all! She threw such a big tantrum when Mum took it off her. She had chocolate all melted on her hands and all around her cheeks. I handed mine over and said, 'I'll save it for really, really, really later'. Later means this afternoon after my sleep! Sunday, March 20, 2005
Last week we all went to Aunty Dodo's house for her birthday party. I was so excited about it, and also about her birthday present. Mum had knitted Dodo a bag and we wrapped it up in paper that Jasmine and I had painted. As soon as we got there I handed over the present and said, 'This is for you, Aunty Dodo, it's a bag!' Then I helped her rip open the paper, because that can be hard to do by yourself. We all played about in the back yard, kicking a ball and mucking about in the sun. It was the best party. I pestered Mum to get the birthday cake so I could help Aunty Dodo blow out the candles and eat it. There were SO many candles on the cake that I got a bit worried, but luckily Jo was able to blow them out by herself. I eyed the cake as it was being cut up and when I was handed a piece I changed my mind and said, 'I don't need any', and snuggled into Mum instead. I can't think what got into me. This morning we all went out for breakfast to celebrate Nan's birthday. I couldn't wait to give Nan her present either, and started unwrapping it for her while she was looking the other way. It was a scarf that Mum had knitted and Nan loved it, which was good, plus she didn't mind that I unwrapped it for her. I had a hot chocolate that was really amazing and then had no room to eat any pannettone, so I played with Uncle Ad instead. Jasmine, on the other hand, managed to eat about two huge pieces of pannettone and didn't want her hot chocolate. After brekkie we went to Princes Park to do some playground testing for Mum. I loved the park and gave it the thumbs up. But I didn't want to leave and nor did Jasmine, so we both threw tantrums in the car for most of the way home. Once we got home Mum and Dad hustled us both off to bed where we both wailed for ages before we fell asleep. Happily, we've had a nice quiet arvo at home and we are both in much better moods now, thanks to an icypole each. I'm sure I'd stay happy if only Mum and Dad would let me have any icypole each day. Yesterday we spent the WHOLE day at home. Mum tried to drag us out to the park mid-arvo, but Jaz and I were having such a good time that we didn't want to go. We were having fun because we were playing with the spare mattress in the loungeroom. I took all the cushions off the couch and arranged them so I could slide down backwards like Virgil, and had the mattress lying across the tops of the chairs so we could roll and bounce across it. This morning I've been building a cubby house with the mattress lying across the coffee table and the chair, making a little cubby just for me and Jazzie. We love it! The other thing we enjoyed yesterday was playing with water outside. It was warm, so we took off our clothes and half-filled the clam with water. Then we got our watering cans and tipped water on the concrete and watched it all run away. We also had fun drawing on the ground with the big fat chalk. It looks different if you draw on water, so we did that as well. Then we stomped on the chalk to make it into a powder, rubbed our hands in water and smeared the pastey chalk all over the ground to make pretty patterns! I drew pictures of Grampa and Mummy and did some writing too. I'm so clever.
