I've had a great week since my last entry. On monday we went to see Nurse Fran at the health centre. I'm getting big quickly - over six kilos now. No wonder Mum's back has been achey. Tuesday got really hot again so we went to Chadstone for a bit of window shopping. It was really boring actually, but cool. We had dinner at Granny B's place (Mum's Mum) which was really nice. Wednesday was also hot so we went to Nan's house at lunch time after visiting some friends in High Street Armadale. Mum embroidered my name on my blanket from Simon and Libby and started knitting me a dinosaur while I dozed on the floor in front of a video. A very nice quiet arvo. Then I got to cuddle my Nan lots. I've worked out that if I want lots of cuddles I just need to grizzle a bit and everyone comes running. Pretty cluey I think. We went to Mothers Club again on Thursday and had a good time talking to the mums and babies. Nurse Fran was talking about feeding us real food, not just milk. I can't wait - mmmm, chocolate, cake and pannetone coming up. Must talk to my Auntie about that. We met Linda and Alexandra at the Botanical Gardens on Friday which was super fun. I like the pretty flowers and huge trees. I got to have a feed overlooking the lake and Mum had lunch at the Observatory Cafe. Alex got to eat chocolate cake. I'm jealous. More cycling on Saturday night. I got to lie across Dad and Uncle Adam's knees for a long while and fell asleep in Mum's arms. This morning we went to see What Women Want with about six other Mums and babies at the Rivoli. It was great. Hmmm, I like Helen Hunt, she's a cutie. But not as cute as Bethany. She was eyeing me off at lunch time although I pretended not to notice. Saturday, February 17, 2001
Boy it's been hot. But at least I get to hang out in just my nappy and nothing else which I like. Mum Bought me a new play gym with my christmas money from my Great Grandparents a couple of weeks ago. I love it - lots of dangly things and colours and it wiggles when I touch it...lots of fun. Mummy and I have been going to new mothers group in Hawthorn. It's good fun. Mummy gets to talk to other mummys and I can talk to the other babies. There's a very cute girl there named Bethany. I like her, she has beautiful brown eyes. We are mostly all boys though, only two or three girls out of twelve. Nurse Fran is very nice. She answers all the questions from the mums and helps them understand us better. Gee some of those boys can burp. I had my immunisations on Friday the 9th. Owwww! I was quite happy until a nurse put a yukky tasting stuff in my mouth and a doctor jabbed me with a needle in both legs. I think I might have yelled a bit after that, just for a little while, but Mummy cuddled me and I felt better. Mum, Dad and I met my Uncle Adam at the cycling on Saturday. It was the Austral Wheelrace, where lots of people on bikes go round and round and round. We were in seats right up the top and it got a bit hot up there. Mum and Dad took it in turns to walk with me around the velodrome so I got a good view of the races. We're going again next week to another race. The weather has been cooler this week so Mum has taken me out on a few walks which has been very nice. We've been shopping to the Camberwell Market and up to the photo shop to get more photos of me developed. We went to Baby Bunting this morning where Mum got me some more clothes since I'm growing so quickly. She tried to cram me into a growsuit yesterday and I just didn't fit. We had breakfast at Brunetti this morning, then had a wander around Lygon Street. We were just about to leave when Nan, Grandpa and Uncle drove around the corner in their new Golf. So Mum and I went back in to Brunetti with them while Dad rode home. I got a bit impatient after a while so Mum held me over her shoulder where I could see all the people come in the door. I'm looking forward to a nice lazy afternoon watching the cricket with Mum. |
